Family History

A geneology is a momument erected in honour of one's ancestor's-- the most practical monument that can be put up. To make one's geneology is to make an ancestral heritage before handing it down-- it is thus accomplishing a very noble duty.
-From Sawyer Family History compiled and written by Gerard Ivanhoe Sawyer.

Below are compiled histories of some of my ancestors. For more information on my maternal grandparents please check out the Writings of Dr. James H. Turnock, Jr and Elizabeth Turnock Memories.

 Baker Family History
A distant relative of mine, compiled research on my maternal Grandmother's family, the Bakers. He agreed to let me convert it into HTML format.

 Sawyer Family History
My paternal grandfather, G.I. Sawyer, compiled this history of the Sawyer family. Includes pictures of my ancestors up to my great-great-great-grandfather.

 Donaldson Turnock Lineage
My maternal grandfather did this research on his lineage. I think it is interesting that his research follows his mother's family and not his fathers.

 Eduard Fenderich's Journey to America
My great-great-great-great Grandfather kept a diary as he traveled to America from Switzerland. These are excerpts that have been translated and passed on through the family.

Oral History of Margaretha Nichol Sawyer
There is a wonderful business out there called Let Us Remember who will do interviews, transcripts and scrapbooks recording your family history. In August of 2002, they interviewed my Grandmother and documented an oral history. This is the transcript of that interview.
